We’ve checked, and we’ve confirmed that many Triad area splash pads and water slides are opening for the 2021 season! For the parks that are completely free to attend, we listed that below. Others charge admission, and some charge a fee for large groups. Every park below is listed with a web site where you can get more information on hours and fees. It’s always a good idea to check the park’s web site or call them to confirm the park is operational the day you go. You never know if weather or something technical has closed the park for the day or longer.

All the parks are grouped by Triad cities. I’ve also included a list of parks that are a short drive away. You can always find this list on our Directories Page. If I forgot to add your favorite local water park, please leave a comment below or email us here!

Barber Park Sprayground 
Address: 1500 Dans Rd., Greensboro, NC 27401 (adjacent to the new picnic shelter area)
Description: Free admission. Typical outdoor splash park with water sprayers. Among the new amenities at the spray ground are a restroom facility and concession stand. Large shaded areas. Playground nearby. Good idea to get there early before the crowd hits.

Burlington City Park Sprayground
Address: 1333 Overbrook Road, Burlington, NC 27215
Description: The Splash Park opens for Summer 2021 on weekends beginning May 15 and expands to daily hours
June 7. Typical splash park with sprays, dipping bucket, 8 picnic tables under gazebo, tables with umbrellas, 140 participants allowed at a time.

Bur-Mil Park Family Aquatic Center 
Address: 5834 Bur-Mil Club Rd., Greensboro, NC 27410
Description: Includes water sprayers, slides for small children, an activity area where kids control the water, plus a water massage bench.

Hagan Stone Park 
Address: 5920 Hagan-Stone Park Rd, Pleasant Garden, NC 27313

Keely Park Sprayground 
Address: 4100 Keeley Rd., McLeansville, NC 27301
Description: Free admission! Typical outdoor splash park with water sprayers. Individual tables available for picnics. Playground nearby. Good idea to get there early before the crowd hits.

LeBauer Park Splash Pad  
Address: 208 N. Davie St, Greensboro
Description: The VF Seasonal Plaza fountain is open daily in LeBauer Park, 10am-8pm. Free admission! Interactive splash pad for children and adults, plus a huge grassy lawn, dog park, Peacehaven Sensory Space (a sculptural wall designed to be enjoyed by people who have sensory processing disorders), ping pong and foosball tables.

Wet N Wild Emerald Pointe 
Address: 3910 S Holden Rd, Greensboro, NC 27406
Description: More than 36 rides and attractions and over 3 million gallons of water fun! Activities and areas for all age groups (including fun rides for moms and dads!).

Carl Chavis YMCA Splash Park 
Address: 2757 Granville Street, High Point, NC 27263
Description: Free for Y members! The Splash Park is an interactive, zero-depth water park designed for all ages. Activities include spraying, splashing, dumping and walk-through features.

Hartley Drive YMCA Splash Pad
Address: 150 West Hartley Dr, High Point, NC 27265
Description: Free for Y members! The Splash Pad is an interactive, zero-depth water park designed for all ages. Splash Pad activities include spraying, splashing, dumping and walk-through features.

High Point City Lake Park Pool and Waterslide CLOSED DUE TO RENOVATIONS (FOR AT LEAST A YEAR)

Kernersville YMCA Splash Park and Teen Activity Pool 
Address: 1113 W Mountain St, Kernersville, NC 27284
Description: Free for Y members! The Kernersville Family YMCA has two fun Outdoor Water Park areas. Playful features in the Splash Park area for younger children include tumble buckets that dump water and ground arch features. The Teen Activity pool has two state-of-the-art water slides, as well as water lily pads and pool deck “funbrellas” to provide shade!

Southside Splash Pad  
Address: (Located at Southside Recreation Center) 401 Taylor Avenue, High Point, NC 27260
Description: Free admission! Floor spouts, water buckets, water spray guns, net climber. No lifeguards on duty.

Washington Terrace Pool and Waterslide 
Address: 108 Murray St, High Point, NC 27260
Description: Along with a large pool, there is a waterslide (about 13’ high), and a low-level wading pool that is great for moms and little kids to sit and splash.

Bolton Pool & Sprayground 
Address: 1590 Bolton Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27103
Description: Opens weekends ONLY starting May 29;  Opens for Full Season June 12. Typical outdoor splash park with water sprayers. Not much shade. Huge pool with diving platforms nearby. Playground also nearby. Season passes available.

Hathaway Park Sprayground

Description: A water playground with fixtures and fountains that spray water.

Happy Hill Splash Pad

Description: Brand new! They also have a new track there as well if you want to exercise then jump in the water with the kids!

Kimberley Park Pool & Sprayground

Little Creek Park Sprayground

Description: Long Creek Pool serves the neighborhoods in the Bethania, Shattalon and Old Town areas and has diving boards. Like all city pools, Long Creek pool offers free swim lessons.

Tanglewood Park Pool and Splash Park

Description: Includes a winding tubing river, two slides, a splash pad, lots of deck space, a children’s pool area with a tumble bucket, raindrop, starburst, and lemon drops, and a lap pool area with two diving boards and two water slides. Despite tables inside – meals are not allowed, only snacks.

Winston (Lake) Waterworks

Carolina Harbor Waterpark at Carowinds

Description: Carowinds expanded its existing waterpark area and created Carolina Harbor, technically now the largest waterpark in the Caroinas. Amenities include wave pool, splash park, little kid area, restaurants, cabanas, Entry to Carolina Harbor is included with the price of admission to Carowinds.

Dan Nicholas Park’s Water Plaza

Description: Free admission! One of the newest additions to Dan Nicholas Park. Features spray and splash area for the little ones.

Davie County Community Park
Address: 151 Southwood Drive, Mocksville, NC 27028
Description: The Vortex Splashpad is the largest (7,350 sf.) in North Carolina. The Nature Splashpad Theme was decided by Davie County Residents in a design charrette meeting which includes LED lights for night time play. They have 3 quadrants designated for different age groups. The area includes 2 shaded picnic areas and 20+ lounge chairs. The Splashpad operates on a recirculating water system that focuses on water conservation. Pre-registration is required. Click the link to their website to register.

Dobson Splash Pad (near Mt. Airy)

Description: Free admission! Typical outdoor splash park with water sprayers. Located in Dobson Square Park which is adjacent to Dobson Town Square. Great Wolfe Lodge 
Address: 10175 Weddington Road, Concord, NC 28027
Description: You must book an overnight to use this park.Its 84-degree indoor water park offers 11 water slides, 4 pools, a water-loaded tree house with a 1,000 gallon tipping bucket, thrill rides like the Howlin’ Tornado, and zero-depth-playgrounds. Homeplace Recreational Park 
Address: 258 Homeplace Park Road, Ararat, NC 27007 (not far from Mt. Airy, Pilot Mountain and Dobson)
Description: “Old Fashioned Family Fun”! Park includes diving pool, rope swing, water slide, plus areas for camping, playgrounds, mini golf course, arcade, carpeted kiddie play area, and more!

Hope Park Sprayground

Description: Free admission! Traditional sprayground. Playground and picnic shelters nearby.

Lexington Aquatic Park 
Address: 207 Forest Rose Drive, Lexington
Description: The cost is $1 for ages 0-17, and $2 for ages 18 and up

Address: 215 N Sycamore St, Charlotte, NC 28202
Description: The facility includes a one-of-a-kind water park with 117,000 gallons of water fun! The facility also contains a fitness center, party rooms, a new playground and other recreational features.

Sun Crest Water Park

Village Park Splash Pad 
Address: (Located at Kannapolis Recreation Center) 730 West C Street, Kannapolis, NC 28081
Description: The Splash Pad offers fun all summer long with its water cannons, geysers and jets.  Designed for all ages and abilities. Some areas require different skill levels. Two age-specific designated areas. Kannapolis Rec Center also offers mini and disc golf, a volleyball court and a playground.

Washington Park Splash Pad 
Address: 100 Bookington Dr, Lexington, NC 27292
Description: Free admission! The Washington Park Splash Pad is a 4,000 sq foot sprayground with dump buckets, spray features, misters, arch features, among many others, and has areas for younger kids, and kids of all ages.! The entire park was renovated and the Splash Pad was opened in May of 2017. There is also a new playground, shelters and picnic tables, a basketball court, walking trail, and bathrooms on site.

Wilkes Family YMCA Waterpark
Address: 1801 YMCA Blvd, Wilkesboro, NC 28697
Description: Free for Y members! The Wilkes Family YMCA waterpark is 24″ deep with a zero depth entry. It includes four spraying/dumping water features, picnic tables with umbrellas, and lounge chairs. Access to family changing room and locker rooms. Personal floatation devices available for non-swimmers. Birthday parties offered on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as after the pool closes!
