Thruway Shopping Center’s Holiday Open House
Thruway Center’s Annual Holiday Open House is scheduled for Saturday, December 7. This historical festive holiday event features carolers strolling the sidewalks, seasonal refreshments, and great gifting specials from participating merchants. Thruway Center is Winston-Salem’s favorite shopping complex, with over 50 merchants and eateries. Exit off Salem Parkway at the S. Stratford Road and Knollwood Street exits, Winston-Salem.
Holiday Movies and Activities for Tons of Family Fun
It’s almost Christmas! Your kids are probably bouncing with excitement in anticipation of the holidays. Family movie time is always a great activity, especially with potentially rainy and/or cold days ahead! You can combine it with a fun craft or activity to make it a full hands-on or longer family experience. Below are some of my family’s favorite holiday movies and some ideas of activities or food/drink to combine with them.

Paul J. Ciener Botanical Gardens Spectacular Blooms
Visit the Spectacular Holiday Blooms and experience a one-of-a-kind holiday light display at Paul J. Ciener Botanical Garden this holiday season. Enjoy a stroll through the tulips, get lost in the illuminated trees along the Event Lawn, and discover more surprises as you stroll around the Garden among the glow of holiday lights. Displays lit Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, November 29-December 29, from 5:30pm-9pm. Tickets $5/Adult, $2/Child (6-17), 5 & under Free. Last tickets sold at 8:30pm nightly.
