Spring is a great time to travel. The weather is nice, and everyone is likely ready to get over their wintertime cabin fever. Not to mention, day trips are a great way to take a break before finals, exams, and graduations.

Below are ten ideas for various day trips for Spring that your family is sure to love!


Whether you want slightly cooler temperatures or gorgeous views, the mountains are nearby and provide multiple perfect destinations for day trips.

Here are a few places to not miss taking the family this Spring:


Amusement Parks

Looking for something thrilling? Then, be sure to check out one of the two amusement parks below!


Small Towns

North Carolina is full of quaint but fun small towns. Each might be small, but they offer big fun! Here are a few ideas of places to venture out to with your family.


Larger NC Cities

If you are looking for culture and places with a lot of options, then be sure to check out the three major NC cities below!


South Carolina

Day trips don’t need to be contained to just North Carolina! Get up early and head south to the ‘other Carolina’. These three SC cities and towns have a variety of things to do!

A day trip doesn’t mean you need to travel far. The Triad has plenty of awesome destinations to check out. There might even be things to see and do in your very own hometown that you’ve not experienced before. Below are just a few of the Triad cities and towns to check out this Spring.
