Girls’ Day Out: A Wine Tour with Triad Trolleys

By Katie Moosbrugger

What do you get when you combine 30 women, wine, and an old fashioned trolley? Well, a lot of things happen and a great time is at the top of the list! If you are looking to plan a fun outing with friends and family, or a memorable occasion (such as Prom or graduation), or an excursion with co-workers or wedding attendees, or even a simple sightseeing trip – we discovered a fantastic idea.

A couple of weeks ago the TMoM team – along with friends and TMoM fans – climbed aboard a Triad Trolley from Triad ECO Adventures and headed out on a wine and bourbon tasting tour throughout Lewisville, NC. Not only was this an enjoyable girls’ day out, but it also turned into a great team building excursion as well. Many of us at TMoM work remotely and this trolley tour brought some of us together for the first time!

Our friendly guide, Luis, took us to Medaloni Cellars, West Bend Winery & Brewery, and Old Nick Williams Farm and Distillery. The entire trip took a little over four hours, and we all agreed the time and the fun flew by in a flash.

Our first stop was at West Bend Winery and Distillery where the welcoming staff treated us to an array of their finest reds and whites, as well as favorite brews.

After an hour visit, we hopped aboard our trolley and took a short ride to Medaloni Cellars, one of the most beautiful vineyards in the Triad to enjoy more savory samples!

Our final stop was at Old Nick Williams Farm and Distillery which added a great mix to our tour. They gave us a behind-the-scenes look at how they craft and age their legendary bourbon, and then treated us to tastings.

These three stops are just a sampling of vineyards, breweries and distilleries to which Triad ECO Adventures can take your group – no matter where you live in the Triad. The service-minded team at Triad ECO Adventures is so easy to work with and they are always seeking to create new excursions tailored to your interests. The folks who organize your trip are natives and locals with over 80 years of combined community service, entrepreneurial integrity and Triad education.

The trolley tour is a new offering for Triad ECO Adventures, and they also offer private and group adventures on segways, electric bikes and paddleboards. You might remember our segway tour HERE or our paddle boarding trip HERE.

The TMoM team cannot say enough good things about the fun we have with Triad ECO Adventures. If you want to organize your own outing, I encourage you to contact the Triad ECO Adventures team via phone (336-722-7777), email (admin@triadecoadventures.com) or fill out their FAQ form online HERE.
