The Nutcracker

The stage of the historic and beautiful Carolina Theatre will once again come to life this December as Greensboro Ballet’s timeless classic, The Nutcracker, delights audiences eager to celebrate the holiday season with family and friends.  This year Greensboro Ballet has the extraordinary opportunity to elevate its annual production to new heights by featuring live music performed by a professional Nutcracker Orchestra!

From the moment you walk into a festively decorated Carolina Theatre, you are enveloped in the spirit of a magical tradition that millions of others experience across the globe each holiday season. You can remember the afternoon or evening by taking a photo in front of a gorgeous, giant Christmas tree in the center of the lobby (under the glowing lights of two magnificent chandeliers) and/or by purchasing a souvenir Nutcracker at their Nutcracker Boutique.

As an added bonus, New York City Ballet’s Megan LeCrone (a Greensboro Ballet alumna) will perform the iconic role of the Sugar Plum Fairy for their December 13^th & 14^th performances. 

Greensboro Ballet’s The Nutcracker dates for the 2024 season include:

~ December 12, 13 & 14 6:30pm
~ December 14 at 2:00pm
~ December 15 at 3:00pm

Tea with Clara

Another of Greensboro Ballet’s holiday traditions is its annual fundraising event, Tea with Clara.

in the Renaissance Room of the Carolina Theatre

Guests are invited to come dressed in their holiday finest for this event designed especially for children which includes delicious tea, punch, or hot cocoa, along with scrumptious treats of all kinds. Children will receive special goody bags that include a Nutcracker craft to complete, an autograph booklet, and gifts from the Ballet’s Tea with Clara sponsors. Of course, Clara will be there with her friends from the ballet story for pictures, autographs, and more. 

It was such a big hit last year, that the Ballet is bringing back its backstage sneak peek! Greensboro Ballet now begins its Tea with Clara events with a brief backstage tour where the youngest guests learn Clara’s lullaby dance . . . right on the Carolina Theatre stage! 

TICKETS:

The Nutcracker tickets run from $20-$45 with special discounts for children, students, seniors, & the military.  
Tea with Clara tickets are $30/person.
