5 Ways Mompreneurs Can Network This Season
By Dennette Bailey
The holiday season is fast approaching. This is an excellent time to invest in relationships and build customer relations with potential customers. The key will be to demonstrate creativity and of course have fun. These 5 ways can be designed to your liking, budget, and needs.
1. Host a Costume Halloween Party
If you find yourself to be more of an introvert, a costume party could be the answer to loosening up and experimenting with communicating the personality of your business or the mission of your event. It also allows you to creatively advertise utilizing themed party favors. This type of party also leans well to incorporating children. You might even designate costumes that align with your business or mission.
2. Host a Holiday Hot Chocolate party (alcohol version)
This will be great for holidays in December and January. Consider that any type of party where alcohol is served, may be better suited for adult parties. This party will help you demonstrate your creativity, have fun, and be very personable with your guest. It is perfect for networking and informing guest of your business or philanthropic goals.
3. Make Thank You Baskets for Customers
As moms, we must be mindful of our time. This networking idea can be done while the children nap or rest for the evening. Customers and potential clients will appreciate this kind gesture. The baskets do not have to be large. The goal is to make sure the thank you items remind the receiver of your business. Try to make sure the items carry your logo and or business name and contact information, even if it is just a placement sticker. This also works well if customers are across state lines because it can be mailed. This is a perfect networking idea during any holidays with a thankful theme.
4. Host a Giving Day
If your business has lots of local customers, simply hosting a giving or thank you day will work wonders. A cookout, a luncheon, even a simple drop in with snacks will allow you to reach all your local customers without having to do individual and costly, individual thank you gifts.
5. Vision Board Party
A vision board party is a perfect networking event because you can find other women who have similar goals to network with. Whether you give the party or attend one, think about how you will stay in touch after this event. Bring your preferred version of business card or contact information and be ready to express a benefit of networking or collaborating after the event is over. For example, talk about a hobby that you participate in that likeminded moms could attend with you in the future. A Holiday with a New Year theme is perfect for this type of party.
Be creative with these events. They can take place midday or on a weekday. They can occur on zoom or even house to house. Make your event fun and engaging. Hiring an event planner could make your choice memorable. If you want to step it up, collaborate with another mom or women owned business for a larger network reach.
