Plan your next vacation to the Outer Banks with Twiddy

Sponsored by Twiddy

I have a large extended family, and we love to spend many holidays and vacations together.  One of my favorite memories was the first trip we took to Duck, NC with about twenty of us.  We rented a beautiful house in the Four Seasons neighborhood and stayed an entire week.  My mom reminded me that it was a beautiful summer that year, but the week we chose, it decided to rain almost the entire length of the trip.  Surprisingly I did not even remember the bad weather because we had such a good time!

We rented our home through Twiddy.  It was a shot in the dark since we had never used their business before, nor had we ever been to the Outer Banks.  I am happy to say that this company well exceeded our expectations.  This was eight years ago, and my family has continued to rent from them every year since then!

I want to share with you some of the benefits of working with Twiddy and then also share some Outer Banks ideas with you as you plan your summer vacation.  And just in case you are wondering, our TMoM team actually sought out Twiddy to sponsor this post because of the excellent service they provide, and we wanted to share their business with our readers.  So although this is a sponsorship, we are writing about them because we truly believe in their company!

Twiddy has been in business for over 33 years. The business is family owned and operated.  We love that!  They currently manage 899 homes at this time, which are in the Northern Beaches, which include Southern Shores, Duck, Corolla and the 4×4 Beaches.  (See map here)  One of the things we liked best about this vacation rental provider is that they were extremely personable and helped us find a home that would fit our family’s needs.  They definitely specialize in southern hospitality!

We were also impressed with the cleanliness of the home itself.  Our favorite house to rent is Green with Envy.  We loved the layout and the style.  The house was stocked with everything we needed.  As I mentioned, during our first rental season, it rained through much of the trip, but because this house had plenty of extra amenities, we were still able to spend time in the pool, and hot tub, and were able to spread out though the house so all twenty of us were not on top of each other!

I would highly recommend this Four Seasons neighborhood, as it also has a clubhouse with an indoor pool, games and fitness equipment.  The neighborhood has homes to choose from that are on the beach and also plenty of homes within a very short walking distance.  It is also close to the adorable shops and restaurants off the main road in Duck.

When we plan our large family vacations, it is often difficult to find a home large enough to fit all of us, but I will say that as you surf through Twiddy.com, you will find plenty of options for large groups (they have a home with 23 bedrooms that is gorgeous!) , as well as simple homes with just a few bedrooms at affordable prices.

When you visit the Outer Banks, you will find that it is extremely family friendly without being too commercial.  My children love visiting the Wright Brothers Memorial and playing on the sand dunes.  It is a perfect place to fly a kite as well.   We also love to visit the lighthouses in the area.  You will also find that there are plenty of art shows, festivals, and entertainment venues, which Twiddy can always help you find!  Even when the weather was bad, we were able to sneak away for a movie in Corolla, and a few drinks at a local restaurant bar.  And when the moms get a chance to shop, they will love the quaint southern boutiques found in the area.

If you are ready to plan a vacation for your family, keep Twiddy.com in the front of you mind.  If you have rented from them before, please share your comments below.  And if you have vacationed in the Outer Banks, share with us some of your favorite things to do and see (aside from doing absolutely nothing on the beach!).
