Frozen Fun for the Whole Family at the Greensboro Ice House

The Greensboro Ice House packs an array of frozen fun at the Triad’s only year-round, ice skating rink.  Conveniently located near the Wendover Avenue exit off of 1-40, the Ice House offers an experience as unique as your family!

Public skating sessions are the perfect outing for families, groups or couples looking for a one of a kind activity (group discounts available). Bundle up for a totally distinct way to chill with family and friends by enjoying extended weekend public skating hours. Join us on Saturday, October 26th for our annual Halloween Party during our 7:30-10 pm public skating session. Wear a costume and enjoy 50% off admission to the Halloween Party!

Capture the cool by gliding into the Learn to Skate program for the young (classes start at 4 years old) to young at heart!  A team of top-notch skating professionals offer figure skating and hockey lessons,   which encourage the development of foundational skills for recreational or competitive skating.  Weekly Learn to Skate classes include skate rental and offer participants unlimited free public skate admission throughout the enrolled semester in order to promote practice outside of class! Fall classes are underway with late enrollment permitted and remaining classes pro-rated.

Skaters graduating from “learn to” classes transition into youth and adult hockey leagues or competitive figure skating.

Advanced figure skating opportunities for children and adults are available through private lessons conducted by a staff of highly credentialed and seasoned coaches. Skaters train to test and compete both locally and nationally on behalf of Summit Figure Skating Club, the local affiliate of US Figure Skating. Summit skaters include Regional Champions, Sectional and Junior National competitors!

Mark your calendars to join the Summit skaters on Saturday, December 21st for the annual Fox 8 / Old Dominion Holiday Concert Series to benefit the Salvation Army and enjoy an evening of live holiday music performed by the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra while our local skaters perform! This family event is a wonderful way to ring in the holidays while helping stock local food banks. Admission is FREE with a canned food item! This event is held at the Greensboro Coliseum and the doors open at 6 pm with the show starting at 7:30 pm.

Youth hockey offers a recreational, in-house track as well as competitive travel teams through the Greensboro Youth Hockey Association (“GYHA”) under the direction of USA Hockey.  GYHA is home of the 2013 16U National Champion!

Adult hockey includes 35 teams in 7 divisions ranging from entry level to competitive, with games played 7 days a week.  Quarterly tournaments, along with charity matches, highlight league play.

Your neighborhood ice skating rink is one of the area’s most popular birthday party venues.  Your little ice princess or hockey star will be a trendsetter with these fun-filled, action packed parties complete with hostesses taking care of every last detail!
