There’s More Than One Kind of Disney Vacation
By Rachel Hoeing, Travel Advisor with The Magic for Less Travel
Living in North Carolina, most of us know all about Walt Disney World in Florida. It’s the place where our families can create memories to last a lifetime. It’s a highly recommended vacation spot not only because of the fun, but because the Disney company is known for its attention to detail, customer service, quality accommodations, and the ability to turn any moment into a magical one.
But did you know that Walt Disney World is not the only vacation destination that Disney offers? Read on to find out about other opportunities for your family and friends to create long-lasting memories!
Adventures by Disney
Adventures by Disney has nothing to do with theme parks or princesses, but has everything to do with traveling the world hassle-free. Your travel agent can share all of the Adventures by Disney Destinations with you, but some of the most popular are Italy, Africa, Japan, France, Montana, Alaska, and Costa Rica.
When you embark on an Adventures by Disney vacation, you can expect high-quality accommodations, VIP and insider access to iconic venues all around the world, local experts and guides to accompany you, unique itineraries, and a team who will make sure every moment is attended to. You will be completely immersed in the culture of your destination.
The planning process is stress-free, as your itineraries are meticulously planned. You literally just show up, and AbD will take care of the rest! AbD also offers River Cruises on the Danube, Rhine, and Seine. You can also inquire about adult-only adventures and expedition cruises.
Disney Cruise Line
Disney Cruise Line is one of the top cruise lines for good reason – they receive consistent excellent reviews, and have guests who sail numerous times throughout the year. Their entertainment, dining, excursions, and ships are all top-notch.
Once on board, you can choose to immerse yourself in Disney magic with shows, characters, and dining. Or, you can focus more on the delectable dishes, fun in the sun, spa services, lounges, and nightlife. There are specific areas for adults only, as well as kids clubs, teen clubs, and nurseries.
DCL currently has five ships that travel all over the world, and a sixth is in the making! You can choose to do a close-to-home sailing by taking a Caribbean or Bahamian Cruise. Most of these sailings will visit Disney’s Private Island, Castaway Cay. And by next summer, you will have a second private island available to visit, Lighthouse Point!
You can also choose to sail all over the world as Disney offers cruises in Europe, Alaska, Hawaii, Mexico, South Pacific, and more. You may even opt for a memorable transatlantic cruise!
Disneyland
Disneyland is the original Disney theme park located in Anaheim, California. It has two theme parks: Disneyland Park and California Adventure. Disneyland Park was Walt Disney’s original dream and is filled with classic fun & nostalgia. Simply walk a few steps away to visit California Adventure. This park includes Pixar Pier, Cars Land, Avengers Campus, and more.
There are just enough differences to make it 100% worth it to visit both Disneyland in California AND Walt Disney World in Florida. You’ll find something special at both and will no doubt want to return.
Walt Disney World
This destination is probably the most well-known and is located in Orlando, Florida. Walt Disney World includes four theme parks, two water parks, and the entertainment & dining area of Disney Springs. The four theme parks include: EPCOT, Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
There are 22 resorts from which to choose when you stay on Walt Disney World property. There is also the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, which is a two-day voyage where you will be completely immersed in everything Star Wars related. With all this destination has to offer, it’s no wonder families return year after year. It will take many many visits to “do it all.
Disney Parks Worldwide
In addition to the Disney parks in the US, you can visit Tokyo Disney Resort, Disneyland Paris, Hong Kong Disneyland, and Shanghai Disney Resort. These are great add-ons to any overseas vacations! Each one is unique and each includes attractions that the others do not.
Additional Disney Owned Resorts
Disney has three resorts in the USA that have just enough magic to give you the Disney touches while visiting these beautiful destinations.
Aulani, A Disney Resort and Spa, is located in Kapolei, Hawaii. Disney’s Vero Beach Resort is Oceanside in Florida. Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort is tucked away along the beach in South Carolina. All three are perfect family destinations to enjoy Oceanside relaxation.
If you are looking to travel with a reputable supplier who always strives to make their guests’ experiences the best possible, Disney is the way to go! It is their constant mission to make vacationing extra special for each and every travel party. Which Disney vacation would be your first pick?
