Child Care Resource Center: The Child Care Experts!
By Guest Blogger Suzanne Isenberg, Child Care Resource Center Development Director
Child Care Resource Center (formerly known as Work Family Resource Center) is your local expert Child Care Resource and Referral organization, serving our community since 1991.
You may be a parent who needs assistance finding a nanny, a child care center or family child care home, after-school care or a summer camp. You may be a business owner or Human Resource Director who is looking for a helpful benefit to offer your employees who need assistance with child care decisions. You may be a Child Care Provider who is looking for professional development and coaching. No matter your role, Child Care Resource Center (CCRC) can help!
We educate. CCRC helps parents understand what quality child care is and how to recognize it. We educate parents about the link between quality child care and school preparedness. We provide the tools you need to make the best decision about child care for your child and your family. In consultation with your CCRC Parent Specialist, you will learn about indicators of quality that you can look for as you visit potential child care programs. You will receive a Parent Tool Kit that provides a list of questions you can ask each child care provider to learn more about their program and how they will care for your child, information about North Carolina’s quality rating system for child care programs and how this system is linked to the quality of care your child will receive.
We also help to improve the supply of and quality of child care programs in our community. We recruit and help potential child care professionals learn about licensing requirements, health and safety regulations, child development and effective business practices. We provide community based early education learning and one-on-one coaching opportunities to help child care professionals achieve the highest levels of quality.
We have the data. CCRC refers to legally operating child care facilities and maintains the largest database (over 700 child care providers) in our 9 county region (Alleghany, Ashe, Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Stokes, Surry, Wilkes and Yadkin).
We help improve productivity in businesses. Unscheduled absenteeism costs businesses in direct payroll costs as well as lower productivity, lost revenue and poor morale. The latter affects, while often hard to quantify, can be the most devastating to organizational success. It’s no secret – working families are struggling to strike a work-family balance. In recent years, it has been proven that there is a strong correlation between family, work satisfaction, and productivity. In order to meet and ideally exceed performance goals that impact the bottom line, employees must feel assured that their child care arrangements are secure. Child Care Resource Center can help.
CCRC does the legwork for working parents seeking child care. We provide a personalized level of assistance to corporate clients through a full range of resource and referral services. CCRC will work with each individual employee to assess their needs and develop customized solutions to their child care challenges. Give us a call and we will gladly talk you through our Corporate Services program and provide this benefit to your employees.
Fees: Our Child Care Program Search is free to the public. We serve all income levels. Our Nanny Search Program is fee-based, and fees are dependent upon the level of service we provide. Our Corporate Service (an enhanced child care referral service offered to businesses as a benefit for employees) is fee-based as well. Please contact us for more information.
